Irina Shabayeva debuts her first Capsule Collection: Irina for INC

Irina Shabayeva, season six winner of Project Runway, previewed her first capsule collection: Irina for INC, a collaboration with Macy’s INC International Concepts, last night at Trump Soho. Inspired by the notion of movement and dance, Shabayeva has designed a sexy collection with clean lines and form-fitting pieces accented with embellishments such as exposed zippers and lace, making for an impressive collection that embodies the feminine. “It’s about being sexy, optimistic and beautiful. It’s about being a woman,” Shabayeva says. Taking a cue from the Rubik’s cube, the collection is enlivened with vibrant and vivid colors and hues fitting for the upcoming season. As well, Irina includes Pointe slipper platforms and ribbon tied espadrilles – footwear that is, like the clothing, inspired by dance.

How does Shabayeva’s experience on Project Runway speak to her work today? “It showed people how much work it is to put a collection together.” That dedicated work ethic is certainly reflected in Shabayeva’s vibrant and flirty Spring 2011 collection.

Guests viewing the collection sipped wine amid a DJ spinning hot tunes on the top floor of the elegant sky rise of Quattro New York.

This collection of dresses and separates range in price from $49 – $159 and will be available in Macy’s stores, including the Herald Square location, beginning February 19th.
