Having an Oscar Party? We Have Drink Suggestions.

The Oscar’s are scheduled for this Sunday.  I have my ball-gown picked out for my Oscar party. What about you – how  will you celebrate the Oscars?  Will you be playing hostess or will you be lounging in your pajamas?  Why make not it a fun evening with drinks and friends?  I even have recipes just for you.  Don’t worry, I won’t get upset if you claim the drink recipe as yours.  Sharing is caring.

The drinks recipes are all thanks for Xanté who graciously provided us with a bottle to sample the drinks for you.  I know, its hard work being fabulous but someone has to do it.   Xanté is great and it contains 17% less sugar than your typical liqueurs.  What fabulous gal won’t love that?  Ready for the drinks?

Xanté Berry
1.5 oz.  Xanté
¾ freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ oz. simple syrup
1 oz. strawberry puree (boiron strawberry coulis is preferred)
2-3 fresh strawberries

Muddle strawberries in a shaker glass. Add Xanté and the rest of the ingredients and shake with ice. Double strain and pour into a chilled cocktail glass with a sugar coated rim. Garnish with strawberry.

The Lucid Garden

1.5 oz Lucid
.5oz simple syrup
Club soda
Cucumber wheels
Kiwi fruit
cucumber

Muddle two cucumber wheels & two peeled kiwi wheels with the simple syrup in a double rocks glass. Fill with ice an add the Lucid absinthe. Top with club soda.
The One Good Pinch Punch.
2 oz  Flor de Caña 7 year-aged rum
1 seedless Watermelon
One good pinch of Cayenne pepper
4 Sugar cubes
1 oz  Lime juice
1 oz Club soda

Method: Dissolve the sugar cubes in 1 oz. of club soda. Add and muddle several 1-inch pieces of watermelon. Finally, add the rest of the ingredients one at a time and stir as added. Chill. Recipe can be multiplied to fill a traditional punch bowl.

Bombay Sapphire Ultimate Martini

2 parts Bombay Sapphire gin
1 part dry vermouth

Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice, stir thoroughly and strain into a chilled martini cocktail glass. Garnish with green olives or a twist of lemon, if desired.
