Melanie Fiona Rocks its at Rising Icons Party
I was greeted with what I can only describe as a crowded mess upon arriving at AVENUE for the party to celebrate the second season of “Rising Icons.”
As an avid party “reporter,” I knew that this could only mean one of two things – I am either in for a really good party or I am in for a really bad party. I love a really good party so with a mixture of fear and excitement, I continued on to my destination; I surveyed the scene and a deeper look revealed the happenings wasn’t so bad. The “crowded mess” was just a mixture of paparazzi and bystanders clamoring for a picture of Estelle. My fears began subside and within minutes I was inside.
And, the party was – GOOD. Whew, relief! It was packed but manageable. Upon entering guests were welcome with a GREY GOOSE cocktail. And, quickly there after the food followed. Cool right? And, so was the music, a funky mix of hip-hop, R&B, Pop, and of course Micheal Jackson. Famous faces freely walked the room. Estelle chilled with her friends while sipping a cocktail. Host Terrence J (from BET) “joked” Wale was popping bottles. Still not quite sure whether this was a joke. A fresh faced Melanie Fiona also wondered around among the guests. The party continued with a musical performance from Rising Icon’s alum Melanie Fiona.
