Obviously, this is a hard job but we are willing to give it a go for the sake of the greater good. In our quest to properly answer this question, we tried some shoes and fell in love with three mentioned below. The shoes are perfect for the busy gal who doesn’t want to be boggled down with an extra set of shoes BUT wants to look stylish. WHAT we loved.

Geox Egizia Sandalo ($165) -  Like Rockport's Janae, this pretty little thing, allowed us to walk through graveled NYC streets and dance the night away without feeling stabbing pains. It's a winner in our book. If you are really feminine this one is for you - it shines and the subtle lace accents adds some allure. Available here

Rockport Janae Dorsay Anklestrap ($140) - We were able to hit the streets AND loaded with heavy items without experiencing major discomfort even after wearing them all day. Pair it with your favorite color denim, skirt, and maxi skirt. Available online here

Harley-Davidson Margie ($85) - First thing first, YES, this is a Harley-Davidson shoe! We were surprised by the level of comfort it was able to offer. If you are busy, and need a shoe that carries you through different scenarios (work-to-party and everything in between) this one is for you.

Last evening, we were given the privilege of attending Parsons MFA Fashion Exhibition, “First Eighteen.” Hosts Donna Karan, alumna of Parsons, and Joanna Coles, Marie Claire Editor in Chief, dazzled partygoers at an exhibition dedicated to showcasing the work of the first graduates of The New School’s MFA in Fashion Design and Society program. Clothing, film, and other multi media presentations were presented with a focus on process and identity. Guests of note included Julie Gilhart, Nina Garcia, Kyle Anderson, Annabell Tollman, and actress Marisol Nichols.

Video installations and collections of student’s individual bodies of work peppered the midtown loft space, showcasing a range of fashions while a DJ spun tunes in the background. Guests were treated to savory hors d’oeuvres and an open bar with Chandon champagne and a mixed drink called “Spice Up Your Life,” a refreshing cocktail with a medley of spices.

Parsons students who’s work was showcased in “The First Eighteen” included Qianyan Zhoa, Mayumi Yamamoto, Elisa Van Joolen, Talia Shuvalov, Jaderozenbroek, Kaoru Oshima, Jie Li, Sinead Lawlor,Noriko Kikuchi, Soojin Kang, Aina Beck Hussain, Jun Juyeon Hong, Ruby Hoette,Beckett Fogg, Carly Ellis, Claire Diederichs, Lucia Cuba Oroza, And Paula Cheng.

Debbie Gibson To Perform at Culture Club

What:  Head to Culture Club to watch the ultimate 80′s icon, Debbie Gibson, perform.  Dance the night away and sing along to your favorites from the decade, while partying for a good cause – a portion of the night’s proceeds will be donated to the Gibson Girl Foundation. Don’t have anyone to see Save the Last Dance 5460 with you? Call me! I am obsessed with anything that involves people dancing and will go to just about anything no matter how bad it is (yes, I saw Honey in the theather and I am not even ashmed). So, its no suprised that this video tickled me silly – it involves– a) flash mob (and really who doesn’t love a flash mob) b) South Asian dancers grooving in NYC.

Last night, we attended a casual cocktail event for WhistlePig at the lovely Jimmy’s Rooftop Bar at the James Hotel. Located in Soho, this rooftop bar boasts a 360 degree view of Manhattan, providing a gorgeous backdrop to the city along with a mellow and elegant atmosphere. Although rain prevented the entire event from occurring in the outside space, inside, guests moved along the lavish indoor bar space and sampled WhistlePig’s rye whiskey, which is aged for 10 or more years and is hand bottled at the WhistlePig Farm Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. Whiskey was served on the rocks and also in a lovely cocktail containing Vermouth and simple syrup.

“We are one of the few only rye whiskeys out there, so it’s a very unique taste that’s really tough to find,” said Steve, head of Operations and Finance at WhistlePig.

Various pork, cured meats, cheeses, breads, and olives were served to accompany tastes of the WhistlePig whiskey. All of the food pairings were so elegant that we unabashedly sat near the food trays, sampling each bite along with the rich and deeply flavorful liquor. What an indulgent tasting experience!
