La Venue Celebrates its Second with Anniversary “A Green Summer’s Night”

On Tuesday I walked down 28th street heading to my first outing for the night.  La Venue (French for “The Venue”) was hosting its two year anniversary celebration with the theme “A Green Summer’s Night.“  As I walked it started raining, but I arrived at “La Venue” before the serious water started flowing.  The space is massive, with a very grand feel.  High ceilings, wood floors and pillars, with solid brick walls surrounding you.  They made sure to keep the décor light so everyone would have space and not feel crowded the way most venues feel in this city.  Unfortunately the rain put a damper on the festivities and most likely many guest took a detour back home.  The first thing I did when I walked in and scoped the room was head straight to the free massage area compliments of SPArties, a mobile day spa. I sipped on my organic green tea and spent ten minutes being pampered.

After the massage I made my way through to the other rooms to see what other festive “green” activities the night had to offer.  I helped myself to another drink and carefully walked across the room so my heels would not snag through the wood boarding “again.”  I reached the room of all rooms, which held the catered cheese and a beautiful red meat slicer.  The butcher asked me if “I’d like some prosciutto”, and I told him to give me a sample of each piece of meat and cheese they had.  I received my plant and was courted by a reporter/writer, a gentleman with the wildest blonde curly hair I have ever seen.  We talked and decided to keep each other company and walked through the rooms surveying the crowd.  We came across the do it yourself photo booth and took advantage of the short line. After we took as many pictures of funny faces as we could desire. I decided to say goodbye to my new crazy haired friend and depart the night was young and still held many adventures to conquer.

Cheeky Adriana Lima on the Cover of Spain’s V Magazine

Is Adriana Lima trying to make you jealous.  We think she is.

Just months after given birth to her first daughter,Valentina, with Husband Marko Jarić, the cheeky Victoria Secret Angel is baring her flat-post-baby stomach for V Magazine’s Spain edition – the first ever foreign edition.  The fabulous Adriana Lima’s cover was shot by fame photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by Andrew Richardson.

Estelle and Sean Paul Help Malibu Rum Kick-off Summer in Style

Happy Summer. If you don’t know yesterday was the first official day of summer and the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. To kick-off the official start of Summer, Malibu rum, decided to host a summer soiree at the GORGEOUS Tribeca Rooftop with VIP performances from reggae artist Sean Paul and TFR favorite Estelle.

Mathias Westphal, Malibu Global Brand Director, said in statement “Malibu wants people around the world to be able to take a day off and celebrate that carefree summer feeling – no matter where you are!”

We couldn’t ask for a better way to celebrate summer then with this laid back summer celebration.  The beautiful weather perfectly complemented the inviting and massive rooftop. The white covered wood seating “stations” that were strategically placed throughout the space reminded me of a fancy beach vacation villa; the Caribbean music that played in the background along with the dancers in skimpy customs only added to the ambiance and festive feel of the party.

Best of all white hats were conveniently scattered throughout the rooftop, so just about every guest was sporting a white hat. To my surprise the white hats were accompanied by matching white sunglasses.  So, it wasn’t unusual to spot party-goers lazily lounging around in matching white hats along with sunglasses with their Malibu Cocktails in hand as they waited for the performances to start.

Sean Paul took to the stage first. The “Give Me Light,” singer performed a medley of his hits.  Sean, sang and danced and involved the audience. He got the clearly excited crowd (myself included) to boisterously sing along and dance to his performances.  His energy was contagious.

Estelle followed Sean Paul’s rousing performance but started by “breaking the rules,” when she mentioned alcohol. Apparently, talking about alcohol at an alcohol party is against the rules. Who knew.  However, the “American Boy,” continued with her set.  Unlike Sean Paul, Estelle, performed mixture of new songs along with some of classic.  Still the crowd, was just enthusiastic in particularly when she performed her signature hit.  But, just when we thought the night off was over Sean Paul come on stage and he along with Estelle perform their song “Am still in love with you” together.
