Summer Must Have: A Chic White Blazer (You Read Right)

Given the scorching high temperatures that the north east experience in recent days – a suggestion to buy a blazer (albeit a white one), may meet me with some resistance but that’s just what I am about to do.

I just love the idea of a white blazer.  So for me a summer must have is a crisp and perfectly tailored piece.  I know making this suggestion may come as a surprise to some and others may question my sanity; but I am not crazy (I think) and I am not backing down.  A summer blazer is the perfect accessory to add to your wardrobe.  When properly stylized it can help to create super chic outfit that looks expansive but is fairly affordable.  And, the blazer can be worn for the cold train rides when running around town, or in the office under your breezy summer wares.  Besides, it can really make a statement- a really cute statement.

My favorite way to stylize the white blazer is to pair it with cropped satin shorts and a feather/lightweight cotton tee.  If you want to dressed up, pair with your favorite pumps;  or, keep it casual with summer sandals.

Sounds great – right? And, now I am sure you want one for yourself. After looking at many selections, I have some great suggestions for you.

Milla Jovovich Face For Ann Taylor Spring Collection

Like fellow model Heidi Klum who was the face of Ann Taylor’s Holiday collection, Milla  Jovovich is to set to grace magazine ads as the face Ann Taylor Spring collection.    The campaign was shot by fame photographer Peter Lindbergh and we love the images.

Ann Taylor Summer 2010 Lookbook

Summer, Summer, come here now so that I can wear cute summer clothes and yes be warm too; Perhaps, my excitement for summer is due to my love for the Ann Taylor summer collection which I recently previewed. And, some of their collection is on my radar for absolute must have– starting with the Swarovksi Crystal Stretch Bracelet ($135). Don’t believe me? Well, you should but don’t worry you can see for yourself as I got images from the summer collection. Its classic Ann Taylor.

Ann Taylor’s 2010 summer collection which begins hitting stores in May, is versatile, with the standard whites, peaches, summer grays and for me there’s a surprising burst of color. There’s something for everyone, seriously.  The pieces are soft, with a classic sculpted feminine silhouette Ann Taylor is so known for. But, the collection also includes some fun and daring pieces such as the fluid dresses with fun tie-dye prints and bright colors.

I spotted some favorites absolute that I seriously NEED like now–pieces like the cotton trench dress ($128), which looks great paired with a sandals for a casual look or paired with espadrilles and summerweight cardigan ($54) for a more polished looked. Than there’s the vibrant print animal print wrap dress ($128) that I LOVE, or the crepe femme jacket ($228). Expect to see some really bright colors such as emerald green and bright pinks added to classic colors.

Also, the summer jewelry collection is something unreal, tons of shiny and crystal, sculpted pieces, and just so know crystal, and of course vintage inspired pieces. There’s the heirloom bib necklace $68, cute and light weight; Or, the noir necklace ($158) a fun statement piece to brighten up any “dull” look.

Elle & Ann Taylor Invite for Cocktails and Conversation (Dec. 17)

I’ve been slacking on the gift guide but today is a new day so I decided to help you out with a suggestion for that fabulous woman in your life–Jewelry.  See, I love jewelry, but I never ever seem to buy a piece for myself. Its true so when ever I receive a piece of jewelry– which is rare, I am happy.
