Yoana Baraschi Spring/Summer 2011 Sneak Peek

09/01/2010 Fashion , , No Comments Posted by Lorna

The Spring 2011 Collection is inspired by a woman fierce in spirit, yet utterly feminine, evoking the sensual confidence of a 70’s Romy Schneider or Gena Rowlands in John Cassavetes films.  A mixture of 70’s and 90’s sportswear classics are reinvented with a modern touch of graphic prints, timeless florals and animal prints.  A color palette that includes sun-kissed shades of coral, lemon, lavender and aqua, complimented by gentle urban grays and weathered natural whites contrasted by navy are found on the season’s key silhouettes.

On Saturday, September 11, Yoana Baraschi will showcase the Spring/Summer 2011 collection at Lincoln Center. Stay Tuned.

Robin Thicke and Janelle Monoe, “Beat the Heat” at Hugo Boss Rooftop Party

The talk of the town among avid party-goers, taste-makers and socialites was the Hugo Boss “Beat the Heat” Summer Rooftop party.  With slated performances from Janelle Monoe and Robin Thicke and DJ sets from Mel Debarge and DJ Cassidy its easy to figure out why.

The rooftop soiree, which was held last Thursday at the Hugo Boss Corporate office located in Chelsea, lived up to the hype.  While, the wait to get into the party lasted as much an hour for some, it was well worth the wait.  The atmosphere, the beautiful view, and crowd were all spectacular.  Indeed, noted personality Bevy Smith tweeted “Hugo Boss did the damn thing,” and we agree.   Attendees, enjoyed specialty cocktails from Belvedere Vodka as they waited for the mini-concerts to begin.

Janelle Monoe, took the stage first. As always the gorgeous and talented musician gave a rousing performance.  With her James Brown inspired dance moves, and amazing stage presence, guests were clearly left in awe.  And, many attendees audibly screamed and jammed to her antics.

While it seem impossible for the party to get any better -  it did. And, that’s when Robin Thicke took the stage.  Wearing a (of course) a Hugo Boss suit, the singer began his performance with his HIT song (and a favorite here) “Lost Without You,” and the crowd jammed.  Though, both of men and women seemed to enjoyed the performance.  We had a feeling the women enjoyed most.  The sexy antics-he sensually grabbed his uhm–private parts, and then at one point grabbed a fan’s camera-was a welcome surprise to some fans.  Still his performance was fun.
