When I think book launch, I think snooze fest filled with bookish snobs quoting Shakespeare and Homer and throwing around words like alliteration and metaphor at every chance they get.  Let’s just say I was a bit apprehensive as I made my way over to the launch party for Gabrielle Bernstein’s new book, Add More ~ing to Your Life, a hip guide to happiness; a 30 day program that includes mediation, affirmations and physical activity to remove negative thought patterns from your mind in order for you to live a happy and fulfilling life.

As I entered the Fierce Club in Nolita was bombarded by a fashionable and trendy crowd that was loud and in full party mode.  And, as I caught a glimpse of the book cover that shows Bernstein standing on a skateboard in the middle of NYC traffic, it all made sense.  With smiling faces at every turn, I was most certain that every attendee was either adding lots of ~ing to their lives or just had one too many TYKU cocktails. I had never seen so many wide grins in one space.

The music was pumping hip-hop mixes and the crowd was seperated into cliques carrying on conversations that only accepted members would understand or care about.  But, overall it was an unexpected happen~ing good time.
