Sundance Channel “Catwalk Countdown” Premiere Party Recap
The threat of a snow storm did stop the fashionable crowd from making their appearance at The Standard Hotel Poolside to celebrate the premiere of Sundance’s Channel “Catwalk Countdown,” this past Tuesday, February 9th. And, if you love fashion then I urge to watch the show. Its an interesting look at the preparations which take place before a show hits the runway. The Catwalk Countdown follows ten designers– Chris Benz, Christian Cota, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs (Cushnie et Ochs), Erin Fetherston, Lyn Devon, Robert Geller, Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia (Sachin and Babi), Jeff Halmos and Sam Shipley (Shipley & Halmos), Beth Blake and Melissa Akey (Thread Social) and Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai (Vena Cava) –as they prepare to show at New York Fashion Week. The original series includes exclusive videos, photos and behind-the-scenes access documenting their creative visions and working styles.
Fashion Designers + The Standard= Great Party! And one not to miss based on the how crowded the party it was, I wasn’t the only with the same idea. People showed up– there was a crowd of stiletto clad women, fashionistas, along with some of New York’s most fashionables and busy socialites partying at the amazing Standard Hotel. Yes, it does live up all the hype. We had an amazing view of the city despite the weather and being dark, we still were able to enjoy the view. So much so must of us didn’t want to leave but once the bar was closed we knew there was no point in staying. So, made our way out of the party where we were gifted with a snuggie like blanket. I was so thrilled.
In addition to “Catwalk Countdown,” this week the website (http://www.sundancechannel.com/fullfrontalfashion/) premieres Douglas Keeve’s “Dirty Denim,” and will also feature up-to-minute accounts from the Bryant Park Tents. On air programming includes unique fashion-centered documentaries such as “Savile Row” and “The Red Carpet Issue.”
