Jen Kao Fall Winter 2010 Collection

I was a bit hesitant as I trekked over to Milk Studios as I never heard of Jen Kao but while I walked with apprehensive I walked out completely infatuated.  The show started off strong with  herve leger-esque cable knit form hugging dresses, with super alluring cut outs followed by fur vest, leather shorts and velvet jumpsuits.  The collection was very dark, mostly black with touches of navy.  She did some barely there tanks and pants in burgundy which were unfortunately, a total miss.  They were pointless and really were a downer in the show.
But once the collection went back to black, all was made right again.  Hefty bag type dresses with deep v-neck to keep the sex appeal, harem pants and gauzy tops and cardigans were among some of my favorite looks.  It was gothic and edgy and all around cool.  There were high necked dresses made of sequins resembling body armor which added a futuristic vibe.  There was such a toughness and attitude to the clothing, and even to the models, which might I add were very womanly, no stick figures here.  I guess V Magazine’s size issue has really had a trickle down affect.  But I digress, basically Jen Kao’s got it going on and is a brand that I am looking forward to seeing develop.
