Alexa Chung’s at Louis Vuitton Store for a Party w/Teen Vogue

I was happy to seek refuge from the cold at the Louis Vuitton  and Teen Vogue party hosted by Alexa Chung December 10th.  Pleasantly surprised by the turnout, I checked my coat and grabbed a drink from the first tray that I spotted.  It was only after a few sips of this sparkling concoction that was garnished with a cherry that I came to the sad realization that this wasn’t an alcoholic beverage. BOO! Needless to saw I was then a mission for an adult drink and in the meantime I mingled and wiggled my way through the gigantic store.  In my pursuit I noticed celebs Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), who while is a little girl had such a womanly demeanor and Donnie Klang (Making the Band) who couldn’t take two steps before another tween asked for a pic.

Manicures and mini makeovers were done on the second floor.  The lines were so long so I didn’t even dare make an attempt to wait in line.  Besides, it would have been quite embarrassing standing in a line with a bunch of 12 year olds because I missed an appointment at the salon this week.  Let’s just say it wouldn’t have done much for my reputation.  I soon discovered that the drinks were on the top floor, hidden far away from the under 21 crowd.  With my thirst for champagne quenched–by Moet I might add, my second mission was to find food.  The hors o’d'oeuvres were nothing short of amazing, with everything from mini burgers and quesadillas, to ceviche and salmon on a cracker.

Distracted by the great music spun by British invader Alexa Chung, and the teeny boppers in their best gossip girl inspired ensembles, I was truly having a great time.  At a little after nine the party were got the hint it was time to go. The servers began packing up shortly after 9 and the crowd suddenly got very thin.  In a matter of minutes, the music was shut off, manicurists stopped mid polish and everyone was being directed toward the exit.

Unfortunately, the only tangible thing to be taken from the party was the latest copy of Teen Vogue.  So in my effort to be green and not waste any resources I left empty handed.  But despite that minor disappointment, Teen Vogue and Louis Vuitton threw one heck of a shindig.

Lunar Landing 40th Anniversory Celebration

I had the pleasure of attending a party to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of the Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin famous moon landing as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Can you believe that was only forty years ago? Though, I was not around when the mission occurred- it still had an impact in my life. I remember seeing the famous “moon walking” video when I was a young girl and thinking that astronauts where the coolest people on earth.  And, for a second I wanted to be one of them until I realize that you have really like science, see I am not down with science  – just not who I am.  Anyways, I digress – the celebration was held at the Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History and was hosted by Louis Vuitton.

Now, if you are wondering why LV is involved in a party to celebrate the famous Apollo mission. I got the answers for you as  I did some research (I know I have all the answers).  It turns out LV has launched a new campaign “Core Values” which commemorates the 40^th anniversary of man’s conquest of the Moon.  As part of the core advertising intuitive LV gathered Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell and Sally Ride to a moving pictorial shot by the one and only Annie Leibovits.

Now about the party, guest danced to the tunes of DJ Cassidy (you know I love him) while sipping on Moet Champagne (my favorite) and other signature cocktails and great food.  The event was attending by the pregnant and glowing Victoria Secret Model Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr another VS model and Orlando Bloom current boo. Lance Bass barely was recognizable among the massive crowd but I spotted him.  Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville and family showed up. My favorite person Estelle also was in the house. See her giving me the peace sign? She is always so lovely to me.  Cassie was also showed up and as did her hair or lack there-off.  Having seen it up close, I still don’t get it. Though, she must know of a good barber because her shaved side was fresh and full of designs.  Jessica Szohr who was how should I put this? Oh, I know: Stank! She is lucky I recognize her and I don’t even watch Gossip Girl.  Moving on, by far the best person at the party in opinion was Marc Jacobs publicists Tim Mark Garcia. Why?  Well, because homeboy proudly displayed his “ankle bracelet” so the police are aware of his whereabouts. Only a real diva can truly pull the ankle bracelet look and Mr. Garcia is a real diva. That’s all I am saying.

Sneakers Lovers: This One is For You

Hopefully, you were lucky and were able to get your hands or feet on the Louis Vuitton special edition Kanye West sneakers because they were sold before they hit the shelves. Rumors suggested the sneakers would make their way to stores by the end of this year so imagine our surprise when we heard the sneakers were shipped  last week.  And, by stores I mean the lucky customers that were able to place an for the sneakers BEFORE they even made into the stores.

If you were not lucky enough to get them, I am sorry. I too am sad and I don’t even wear sneakers.   I like Kanye’s sneeks because they are just so cool. Anyways, lets just drool over them. Check them out.
